Length 3 days/2 nights

First Day:
Arrival in the morning, entrance and visit of the famous Castellana Caves, package lunch provided by participants. Meeting with the guide and visit of the famous grottoes. Transfer in 3 stars hotel in Alberobello or Fasano and arrangement in multiple rooms for students and double rooms for teachers, dinner and overnight stay.

Second Day:
Breakfast. Transfer to Ostuni. Meeting with the guide for the visit of the magic “White Town”. Departing from square of Libertà and arriving up toward the Cathedral. Before arriving at the Cathedral it will be possible to do a wonderful walk passing through the white of the walls, steps and arches and then arriving at the Cathedral. The visit will continue crossing the characteristic alleys where it is possible to see many panoramic points that give the chance to enjoy unforgettable patches. Lunch in restaurant or masseria. In the afternoon transfer to Ostuni countryside’s for the guided visit of an hypogeum oil press dated at the year 1000, perfectly preserved and completed of all the equipment used in the Medieval Age to produce oil.

Third Day:
Breakfast. Departure to Matera. Meeting with the guide and guided visit in the famous “Sassi” on the tracks of the ancient owner of the rural houses. The itinerary develops in the famous “Rione Sassi” and the main aim is to underline the differences in the styles of the old and new citizens of the Sassi, starting from the history, uses and folk traditions. During the itinerary it will be possible to visit ), the house-cave typically equipped with furniture of rural culture, and all the locations of “The Passion” the Mel Gibson movie. Lunch in typical restaurant. In the afternoon: Orienteering in the “Murgia Park” of Matera. Students will learn how to use IGM maps and compass to orientate themselves in the old districts, watching some of the most beautiful rocky churches.
